Education

For some it’s the first time walking on a nature trail. For others, it’s a relief to be outside after a day in a classroom or office. Either way, people come to Bailey Arboretum and enjoy walking the trails, playing in the Children’s Habitat or listening to the sounds of nature by our ponds and in the woods.  Each season presents new opportunities to explore nature as birds migrate, turtles bask on logs and plants bloom.

Stop by the parking lot kiosk for information on scheduled programs, a map and activity brochure.  Run, skip, hop and walk through our 42 acres.  Look closely at fallen logs to see what’s living there, breath in deeply the scent of pine, look for frogs as they call from the edges of the pond while ducks float across the water.

Throughout the year, programs developed specifically for families, scouts and students are offered. Watch our calendar to find out how to participate in these events.

Our objective is to explore nature in interactive, fun ways as we help students, scouts and families learn more about the environment and the habitat provided at Bailey Arboretum.
