 March 2009

Dear Friends,

Over the past twelve months much progress has been made at Bailey Arboretum. The Children’s Habitat ia now a reality -- a unique place to collect pinecones, dance on the platforms, make music, dig, build and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.  The Eco-Literacy Trail is attracting many new visitors.  We hope you will join them to stroll in the woods, sit by the ponds, enjoy a picnic or walk your dog.

The enclosed Newsletter includes the 2009 Calendar and more information about our exciting new initiatives.  The progress we’ve made to date has been entirely dependent upon the financial support of our friends and neighbors leveraged by thousands of volunteer hours.

This year, once again, a generous donor will match new and increased donations.
As an added incentive, contributors who are able to give $500 or more will be entitled to an engraved river stone along the pathway leading to the Children’s Habitat.  You will get to choose the inscription on your stone  – they make wonderful gifts.   Every dollar of every membership contribution goes directly into maintaining and improving the Arboretum.  Thank you very much for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Become a Friend
Bailey Arboretum is dependent on private donations to maintain the property and preserve our policy of free admission.  We would be delighted to have you as a Friend. We also hope you will consider marking a special occasion or honoring a special person by purchasing an engraved river stone at the entrance to the Children's Habitat.
