The former estate house of Frank Bailey called “Munnysunk” was originally built sometime in the 1800’s. After Frank purchased the property, he hired Craig Severance to renovate it, keeping the country charm feel of this neocolonial home.

Today, Bailey House and its surrounding property, is a lovely space for hosting your special event.

+ What are the outdoor wedding event fees?

2024 Events

Outdoor Wedding Reception: The fee includes reception site, photography permit, access to restrooms inside the Bailey House, 5 hours with guests on site, 1 hour prior for getting ready and/or first look photography, total of 6 hours on property maximum including photography. A Bailey House Manager will be on site. Private parking area for maximum of 40 guests, valet services required for 40+ guests at an additional fee. Up to 100 guests maximum, $8,000.

Outdoor Wedding Ceremony: The fee includes ceremony site, chairs, photography permit, access to restrooms inside the Bailey House, 1 hour with guests on site, 30 minutes prior for decorating and/or first look photography, total of 1.5 hours on property maximum including photography. A Bailey House Manager will be on site and will set up included white folding chairs prior to ceremony. Private parking area for maximum of 40 guests, valet services required for 40+ guests at an additional fee. Up to 100 guests maximum, $1,800. Please note, if booking a reception, a ceremony can be added on to the reception site fee for $1,000.

Site Only Ceremony: The fee includes ceremony site only. This allows for 30 minutes maximum on property, no indoor access at all, no chairs will be provided by Bailey and no chairs may be brought in, no amplification of sound, no Bailey House Manager on site. Parking is available first come first serve in our general public parking lot, and portable restrooms are available in the same lot. Photography permit is not included but may be obtained separately. Up to 20 guests maximum, $500.

Deposits and Security: Deposits and Security: All wedding ceremonies require a $500 fully refundable security deposit as well as 50% of the site fee at the time of booking. All wedding receptions require a $1,000 fully refundable security deposit as well as 50% of the site fee at the time of booking. The 50% balance must be paid 30 days prior to event date.

2025 Events

+ What are the indoor Bailey House fees?

Indoor Bailey House Party Rental: The fee includes use of the first floor of the Bailey House, access to restrooms inside the Bailey House, 3 hours with guests on site, 1 hour prior for set up, total of 4 hours on property maximum. A Bailey House Manager will be on site. Private parking area for maximum of 40 guests, valet services required for 40+ guests at an additional fee. Dancing and DJ/live music strictly forbidden due to structural conditions of the 200-year-old Bailey House. Up to 50 guests maximum, $5,000.

Deposits and Security: All inside Bailey House event rentals require a $1,000 fully refundable security deposit as well as 50% of the site fee at the time of booking. The 50% balance must be paid 30 days prior to event date.

+ Where are ceremonies held on the property?

Ceremonies at Bailey Arboretum may only be held in the Bird Garden or Rose Arbor.

+ Where are receptions held on the property?

Receptions at Bailey Arboretum may only be held under a properly sized, professionally installed tent on the terrace.

+ Is Bailey Arboretum open to the public during my event?

Bailey Arboretum is not a private location and is open to the public between 9am and 5pm, Wednesday - Sunday, although ceremony and event locations are somewhat geographically secluded from the more commonly accessed public spaces of our grounds. Inside the Bailey House is always off-limits to the public. All events are booked as an exclusive event for the day; therefore, no other event will be hosted on your date. Additional hours past those listed above can be booked at a rate of $450/hour.

+ Do I need obtain a permit for photography if I hold my ceremony at Bailey Arboretum?

A permit for a photography session is included with the outdoor wedding ceremony site fee (a photography-only permit fee is $250). Please note that Site Only ceremony packages do not include the photography permit, but it can be obtained separately.

+ How many guests can Bailey Arboretum accommodate?

The guest limit is dependent on the type of event, with the highest number of guests not to exceed 100 in 2024, 120 in 2025. Bookings are accepted on a first-come first-served basis.

+ Is music permitted?

Soft music, live or recorded, is acceptable. Bailey Arboretum does not provide an amplification system. Local noise ordinance must be adhered to.

+ What kind of decorations are permitted?

Limited floral decoration is permitted at the ceremony site. Reception décor is permitted at ceremony site and contained within the reception tent. Set-up may be no more than 30 minutes prior to the ceremony and all decorations must be removed within 30 minutes after the ceremony. Clean-up of flower petals is the responsibility of the users. Failure to comply with removal for floral decorations may result in funds withheld from the security deposit. The release of fake flower petals, birdseed, rice or balloons is not permitted. Bailey Arboretum does not aid in the decorating of the ceremony location.

+ Is alcohol or smoking permitted?

Alcohol is not permitted to be served or consumed on the Bailey Arboretum property before, during or after wedding ceremonies. Alcohol is permitted to be served by licensed and insured catering staff exclusively during reception rentals. Cigarette smoking is only permitted on the gravel circular driveway on the front side of the Bailey House, and cigarette butts must be safely disposed of in the smoking receptacle nearby, not discarded on the grounds.

+ Where do my wedding guests park and do they have to pay?

Bailey Arboretum staff will be on site to direct cars to the parking area, to direct guests to the ceremony location, and to enforce the terms and conditions of the agreement. Staff does not function as master of ceremonies or ceremony coordinators. Wedding guests do not have to pay for parking. Valet parking services may be arranged through Bailey Arboretum’s exclusive valet company. Valet parking is required for all events with greater than 40 guests in attendance, unless proof of contract for alternative transportation (ie: shuttle or bus service for all guests) is provided. Site Only Ceremony terms do not include parking; parking will take place in the general parking lot of the property and is available on a first come first served basis amongst other visitors to Bailey Arboretum.

+ What happens in case of rain?

There is no indoor contingency option to accommodate rain, max of 50 person event. It is strongly suggested that you work out a tent back up plan with our preferred rental company if rain is forecasted in the days leading up to your wedding ceremony. If you are booking a wedding reception, Bailey Arboretum staff will work closely with your tent rental representative and your caterer to have a contingency plan in place to accomplish all components of your event (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception) under the tent if necessary.

+ Does the ceremony fee include a rehearsal?

Yes, a ceremony at Bailey Arboretum includes an optional 30 minute rehearsal that may be scheduled prior to the ceremony date.

+ Does Bailey Arboretum require the use of specific vendors for florals, photography, and music?

No, but we do require a valid certificate of insurance naming Bailey Arboretum as additionally insured. We can provide a list of preferred vendors in our local area who are familiar with our unique property.

+ What are the steps needed to schedule an event?
